YOU DON"T KNOW
WHAT YOU ARE MISSING
Braves win 3-2 over the rejuvnated Navan Grads
in overtime, but I just have to say it "Folks you don't know
what you are missing !". The Brockville Braves Friday night
home games are the best entertainment in town, bar none. In
the 7 home games since the New Year;
- They beat the 1st place Ottawa senators 5
–3
- Downed three other teams ahead of them in
the standings
- Played 4 OverTime games , winning three of
them
- Moved to within striking distance of
the teams in 2 to 6
What more can a fan ask for, these guys are
playing thir hearts out and producing wins.
Last night was another classic example of the “NEW” Brockville
Braves as they played 2nd place Navan Grads. Navan goaltender,
Braeden
McIntosh ( 27 wins ) kept the Braves at bay
most of the game. During the first 58 minutes only Buffalo,
NY’s Matt
“Chuck” Yeager (13-9-22) was able to get
a puck past him. In that same period Owen
Parsons ( 27-24-51) cored his 27th goal of the
season and Simon
Singher (4-14-18) chipped in with his 4th of the
campaign. Then it was time for some birthday celebrations as
Kyle
Powers ( 9-7-16) blew out the candles on his 18th
birthday cake with a timely goal with less than 90 seconds left
in regulation to tie the game and send it into overtime.
There was a lot of to-ing and fro-ing in the
OT period, neither team held back and as in regulation
both goalies stood tall. As time wound down, Captain
Culhane (2-22-42) returned the favour to his winger
Colin
“The Big Train” Elliott ( 13-30-43) who banged
home the OT winner much to the delight of the delirious hometown
fans.
The three stars, appropriately enough, were
Elliott, McIntosh and Yeager.
